CFD Makes Impact in the Textile Business

	Fluid/Thermal analysts don't usually think about the textile industry when they discuss applications for CFD Software. But Murata Machinery, Ltd, a leading designer and manufacturer of textile machinery in Kyoto, Japan has been using CFD since the 1990s. Murata uses Cradle SC/Tetra CFD software to help design machines and tooling that use air flow to spin textiles.

	In this narrated interview, Mr. Hidetoshi Takeuchi, Manager at the Murata Machinery, Ltd. R&D Technical Development Center, discusses CFD for a yarn spinning machine that uses aerodynamic forces to twist the fiber. He also discusses application of CFD to other Murata products. SC/Tetra analysis of VORTEX textile machinery. Yarn is woven by compressible airflow.
