The Fluent RSF is specifically designed to handle highly parallel simulations that are often characterized by large volumes of sensitive customer data, over the Internet. It is optimized for large-scale simulations and/or concurrent execution of many simulations, such as those found in sensitivity analysis or optimization.
The facility uses state-of-the-art security and systems infrastructure technology from providers including Cisco, Sun, and Linux Networx. This service is ideal for Fluent CFD users who require occasional "surge" capacity for time-critical simulations, or periodic simulations of large models. "This new capacity from Linux Networx is pretty amazing," said Thomas Scheidegger, a Fluent Consultant. "I was able to solve a 13.5 million cell, 2 equation turbulence model using ideal gas at 27 seconds per iteration."
Eric Pitcher, Linux Networx Vice President, Product Marketing, Government, Industrial and Life Sciences said, "After working with Fluent to develop an integrated CFD cluster system, we are now able to pre-integrate Fluent onto the Evolocity(R) II cluster system in our facility before shipment to customers.
