News The Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar prize is awarded annually to young Indian researchers for scientific contributions made primarily in India during the last five years.

Vivek Ranade, head of the Industrial Flow Modelling Group at the Indian National Chemical Laboratory, has been selected for the award in recognition of his important contribution in advancing understanding of bubble column, stirred and trickle bed reactors by developing various novel computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models, which have helped in predicting unsteady as well as time-averaged flow characteristics of chemical reactors.
