Hitachi Announces Foamed Resin Simulation Technology
Posted Thu October 07, 2004 @10:58AM
Print version Email story Tweet story
News Hitachi's Product Engineering Research Laboratory and Hitachi Home & Life Solutions have jointly developed 3D molding simulation technology especially designed for foamed polyurethane resin, which often expands, during the molding process, more than 30 times the original volume.

The new solution accurately calculates and simulates density and pressure changes in the material during the molding process to enable manufacturers to effectively produce a mold with fewer prototypes and cut production costs.

The system works with FLOW-3D, Flow Science's computational fluid dynamics (CFD) flow modeling software.
