As part of their continued expansion into North America, a series of meetings were held in the summer of 2004, in order to define the expectations, requirements, and opinions of the North American community. These meetings provided attendees with a valuable insight into the operation of NAFEMS, and their plans for North America. From these meetings, a number of key issues were identified as being paramount to the success of NAFEMS North America, and these issues form the basis of a North American action plan, which is due to be published early 2005.
One of these key issues was the provision of a forum for like-minded individuals to discuss the issues relevant to engineering analysis and related technologies. The North American discussion group aims to bring individuals together to create a community of experts and interested parties.
The purpose of the group is to stimulate discussion and collaboration. NAFEMS activities will be taking place in North America early 2005, and this discussion group exists for interested parties to discuss NAFEMS, its activities, proposed events and initiatives, and engineering analysis in general.
It is hoped that the discussion group will prove a valuable resource to all those involved in analysis, modeling, and simulation in North America.
