“We are very pleased that Blue Ridge Numerics is supporting our Formula SAE competition. Many of the design challenges teams have to solve when designing a winning Formula SAE entry lend themselves to the use of computational fluid dynamics. The skills students develop in applying CFD tools to their Formula project will serve them well in their engineering careers,” said Steven Daum, Formula SAE Program Manager.

Organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the Formula SAE competition gives students a unique opportunity to conceive, design, fabricate, and compete in formula-style racing cars. Teams build cars over a period of about one year and take them to the annual competition for judging and comparison against approximately 140 other vehicles from colleges and universities throughout the world.

Award Entries Now Being Accepted
Formula Teams using CFD as a design tool are encouraged to submit an entry for the CFdesign Award no later than Friday, May 11th 2007. For full details contact Maureen Kennedy via e-mail (maureen.kennedy@cfdesign.com) or phone (434.977.2764 x136).
