News RBF Morph, providing the world’s fastest mesh morphing tool, announces that thanks to a license and distribution agreement in place with ANSYS Inc., the RBF Morph™ add-on for ANSYS® Fluent® is now directly available from ANSYS.

As demonstrated in several industrial applications, the awarded Radial Basis Functions Mesh Morphing Technology enables shape optimization of top sized CFD models, reducing time to market and product costs.

RBF Morph and ANSYS have been partners since 2009. Thanks to this partnership, the RBF mesh morphing add-on has been improved and refined to fit most demanding needs of ANSYS customers. The high integration of RBF Morph within the CFD solver ANSYS Fluent (at solution stage) makes shape optimization possible, even for huge meshes. The whole optimization process can be easily automated using ANSYS Workbench™, including the optimization tool ANSYS DesignXplorer™, as demonstrated by the 50:50:50 Project: 50 shapes using a 50 million cells model in 50 hours. High precision mesh morphing is also paramount for advanced applications in which shape evolution is driven from the physics of the analysis as fluid structure interaction, ice accretion and adjoint solver sensitivity.

“RBF Morph technology enables the creation of variations of a design shape in few seconds without reproducing a computational mesh; this greatly reduces the time needed to perform CDF analysis within ANSYS Fluent,” said Gilles Eggenspieler, senior product manager for the ANSYS fluid line. “In turn, using the RBF Morph technology in conjunction with an optimization tool like DesignXplorer allows designers to optimize the shape - or geometry - of a design and export it back to a CAD format that is familiar and usable by engineers.”

“We have developed a fruitful partnership with ANSYS: a great chance to improve our software and to focus it on users needs”, said Marco Evangelos Biancolini, RBF Morph Director. “We believe this is a good opportunity to make RBF Morph more available to ANSYS’ global customer base and to share product development roadmaps,” he added.

The RBF Morph add-on is available today and ANSYS customers can get more details from their local ANSYS office or reseller.
