News If you are going to be in the greater Detroit/Ann Arbor area, plan on attending one of Fluent's Automotive Lunch 'n Learn seminars. The first in the series of four Lunch 'n Learns begins Friday, March 18.

Acoustics Modeling with FLUENT, March 18
Aeroacoustics is a topic of increasing interest in many industries. The need to reduce noise is felt in an immense number of automotive applications, ranging from wind noise, HVAC duct noise to fans and blowers. With the recent advent of advanced CFD models and algorithms it has become possible to numerically simulate aeroacoustics for many of these applications.

Lunch ‘n Learn Seminar for FloWizard, April 22
The FloWizard Lunch 'n Learn seminar is an excellent opportunity to learn about Fluent's first CFD software tool built exclusively for design engineers and how it can be a critical component in product design and optimization.

Unsteady Flow Modeling with FLUENT, April 29
CFD is extensively used to solve a variety of complex and computationally expensive transient flow problems, driving the need for ongoing development and refinement of CFD algorithms that improve the transient efficiency. Fluent 6.2 provides two new non-iterative time advancement (NITA) schemes that significantly reduce the run time of transient simulations. This presentation will focus on these new numerical schemes and other Fluent 6.2 solver enhancements that allow for faster transient simulations involving VOF, sliding mesh, and noise modeling, among others.

Multiphase Modeling with FLUENT, May 20
Advancements in multiphase modeling and computational power have been bringing multiphase flow simulations into the mainstream of the automotive industry. The new features in FLUENT 6.2 push further the limits of CFD simulations of the hydrodynamic and thermal effects of various multiphase and phase change phenomena. This presentation will discuss CFD modeling of boiling, cavitation, evaporation, piston cooling, defogging, and various filling applications.

To register for these free events, please visit the seminar website.
