The intention of AUTOSIM is to research best practices and potential breakthrough technologies in three key areas:
- Integration of Simulation into the Development Process
- Materials Characterisation
- Increasing Confidence in the Use of Simulation
AUTOSIM is operating through a series of technical workshops. This is the fifth in the series, but it is not necessary to have been to the previous four: the results of the previous workshops will be summarised at the start of this meeting.

The specific objectives of this workshop are:
- Development of Best Practices
- Breakthrough Technologies within the State of the Art
AUTOSIM also intends to interact with the entire European automotive industry through a proactive consultation process. The final objective of this workshop is to provide material for input to the consultation report.
