Announcements On September 21-25, 2009, in Dusseldorf, Germany, SoftInWay will conduct a 5-day intensive course for engineers involved in turbomachinery design, redesign, optimization and retrofitting. The course consists of two parts: Axial Turbine Fundamentals and AxSTREAM Interactive Workshop on Turbomachinery Flow Path Design and Optimization.

Both parts are independent, so the participant can choose one of them, or register for both. The training is taught by experienced engineers from SoftInWay having the appropriate academic and industrial background in turbomachinery.

Part 1 is a comprehensive overview of steam and gas turbine basics, including such topics as turbine designs and cycles; initial turbine sizing; multistage turbines; turbine calculation; design and off-design operating modes; and profiling and 3D blade design. The course is dedicated to engineers who want to acquire more detailed knowledge of thermodynamics, gas dynamics, structural analysis and basics of axial turbines and their elements.

Part 2 represents an intensive hands-on training that provides engineers with all necessary theory and practice to design and analyze an optimized turbomachinery flow path using AxSTREAM. The course contains special tracks to cater to particular interests of participants: axial and radial turbomachinery; axial turbine; axial compressor; radial turbine; centrifugal compressor; and retrofitting and performance upgrades. By the end of this training each attendee will receive a free 1-month license to the AxSTREAM turbomachinery design software suite (a value of over EUR 10,000).

SoftInWay offers discounts for those who register for the course before July 15.
