TURBOdesign2 is a unique viscous 3D inverse design code specifically developed for axial transonic and supersonic turbomachinery stages such as fans, compressors and turbines.
The code allows designers to carefully control the three-dimensional loading distribution on the blade and hence provides superior means to control the aerodynamic behavior, shock strength and peak Mach number hence improving the stage performance.
Three selected applications will be showcased to highlight key features of the code:
- A transonic compressor case where the loading is manually modified to attenuate shocks strength and improve peak efficiency
- Coupling of TUBOdesign2 with Design of Experiment (DOE) and Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) to improve both peak efficiency and operating range
- Redesign of a transonic LP turbine
The webinar conclude on ease of use of the code in both single blade row and multi-stage configurations along with integration options in clients design systems.
