Announcements Join Saratech for a Webinar on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis to detect, optimize, and solve flow and thermal issues in automotive applications. We will be looking at several different applications of FloEFD as applied to a vehicle.

Sponsor CFD Review

Examples covered:
  • Exhaust System
  • Water Pump
  • LED headlight

We will show how FloEFD can be used within the Siemens NX environment to simulate these components and how the design can be optimized for better performance. Performance analysis earlier in the design cycle allows for faster changes and potential issues to be caught and fixed before they get costly.

What you will learn:

  • How FloEFD works within the Siemens NX CAD system
  • How to setup a thermal model and apply all the parameters needed for analysis
  • How to model various components within a vehicle
  • Important analysis aspects such as mesh control and solver monitoring
  • How to interpret results visually and numerically
  • How design changes can be quantified and used to optimize the design

FloEFD is a 3D CFD software that can predict airflow and heat transfer in and around electronic equipment, including the coupled effects of conduction, convection and radiation. FloEFD is seamlessly embedded within Solid Edge which means that the design and simulation stay in-sync. This also means that what-if studies and optimization can be performed much easier as parametric design data is still available.
