Opening Leads the development of computational combustion models for the Transonic Combustion fuel injection system. This novel and advanced high fuel efficiency combustion process utilizes gasoline in a high compression ratio engine architecture. The Senior Combustion Engineer will develop and validate CFD models that facilitate achieving our performance, emissions and noise objectives.

Responsibilities include application of commercial codes, development of code modifications/additions, the design of validation experiments, analysis of data from multiple development programs including single and multi-cylinder engines. Interpretation of engine test data and information from rig based experiments. Provide input to design and development of injectors, piston geometries, valve strategies, and turbo charging requirements. Work interactively with design engineers and combustion experimentalists. In-cylinder CFD and one-dimensional modeling to direct the development work towards the performance parameters is central to the role.
