News Advanced Design Technology (ADT) has released version 2.0 of its TURBOdesign1 simulation software. The latest version of TURBOdesign1 further enhances the revolutionary approach to blade and vane design for turbo related products.

TURBOdesign1 is the world's first and only commercially available 3D inverse design tool which industry leaders are quickly adopting.  TURBOdesign1 allows the designer to innovate their designs beyond previous experience, the result is greater efficiency and performance.

According to Prof. Mehrdad Zangeneh, TURBOdesign1 Product Director, the new version provides two major productivity enhancements: the ability to specify blade loading and thickness distribution on many streamwise sections and the ability to perform blade comparisons.

The application by many leading turbomachinery manufacturers such as Ebara Corporation of Japan and Avio group of Italy has led to important breakthroughs in design (such as compact machine size) as well as substantial reductions in design cycle.

Mr. Hiroyuki Kato, Executive General Manager of Ebara (Hydro and Aerodynamic Technologies Division – Fluid Machinery Group), has been using TURBOdesign1 since 1998 and says “Ebara has succeeded in making a significant reduction in the overall production time of custom pumps and increased competitiveness in the world markets. This new design system is also very effective to accelerate the development of the hydraulic designs of mass-production standard pumps”.

TURBOdesign1 V2.0 is available on UNIX and NT platforms. It is provided at no additional cost to all current TURBOdesign1 customers. License fees are determined by the type of processes that a user requires. If you would like to register for a web demonstration of TURBOdesign1 visit our website.
