CEI's Reveal Extreme Visualization Player Offers New Japanese Language Support

News Computational Engineering International (CEI) announced today that the latest version of Reveal, the company’s extreme visualization player, now includes full Japanese-language support. All menu items, dialog boxes, and help messages can easily be set to default to either Japanese or English at the user’s choosing.

KGT Inc., which distributes CEI’s software products in Japan, was responsible for the Japanese translations and worked with CEI to complete the project. Because Reveal’s graphic interface takes advantage of the Qt toolkit, the time and effort needed to complete the localization were greatly reduced.

“Rolling out Reveal’s Japanese support has been so successful—thanks to KGT’s help and to Reveal’s flexible architecture—that we look forward to adding support for additional languages,” said Darin McKinnis, CEI’s vice president of marketing and sales. “By adding support in other languages, we’re aiming to make Reveal an even more useful visual communications tool in various international markets.”

Many customers in international markets often use Reveal to share their visualization results with designers and sales people who may not necessarily speak English fluently. Localization for the Japanese market promises to greatly enhance Reveal’s usefulness for users dealing with this common scenario.

“Now, our customers can simply send their visualization results along with a copy of Reveal, because the latest release makes it easy for anyone to use—whether they speak English or not—thanks to the Japanese-language support,” said Yoshihito Kikkawa, senior consultant, KGT Inc. “This a great advantage for our customers, and it only took about two days to translate the entire program, including its help messages and tool tips.”
