FLUENT for CATIA V5 makes use of a high level of automation combined with integration into CATIA V5. Tasks that conventionally require a lot of manual intervention, including meshing, solution steering and reporting, are performed automatically by FLUENT for CATIA V5. With full upward compatibilty to FLUENT 6.3, FLUENT for CATIA V5 permits design engineers to do more CFD analyses faster and better than ever before.

Version 3.1 delivers a set of features that generate a major improvement in user scenarios at all stages of the simulation process. Reducing the time to solution and making CFD available for all through ease of use and tight integration into the PLM are key drivers of the FLUENT for CATIA V5 development.

Some of the improvements made in Version 3.1 are:

  • The extension of the automated flow volume extraction algorithm to thick models providing a higher level of automation and quicker set-up in many more cases.
  • Prism layer creation optimization enabling an improved mesh quality and reduced mesh count for faster and more accurate results.
  • Additional solution and modeling control which enable companies to deploy or create a proven CFD workflow into the CATIA V5 PLM building upon their accumulated experience while streamlining processes.

Many other improvements pertaining to customization, post-processing and reporting are also included in Fluent for CATIA V5 3.1, including streamlined advanced CAD associativity scenarios including activating or deactivating parts, replacing parts in assemblies and support of topological changes.
