“We continue to bring our premier thermal software to the forefront of CAE technology,” says Keith Johnson, CEO of ThermoAnalytics. “This release features an advanced solver for layered anisotropic composites and a significant upgrade to the thermal-electric battery module with the new equivalent circuit model for rapid evaluation of pack- and vehicle-level cooling system designs.”

ThermoAnalytics’ NTG Equivalent Circuit Battery Model is ideal for transient thermal and electrical battery pack simulation. Vehicle and battery manufacturers can integrate simulations to rapidly evaluate thermal control, cooling, and warm-up strategies over actual drive cycles and using realistic environmental conditions from any global location.

Anisotropic 3D lateral conduction materials, such as carbon fiber, can be simulated under transient or steady-state conditions. "As fuel economy requires vehicles to become lighter, version 10.4 will enable OEMs to accurately simulate light weight carbon fiber parts, accelerating much-needed innovation," said Vice-President Allen Curran, PhD. "Managers can also make improved product decisions with our enhanced thermal reporting features, to automate post processing of complex models."

The new CFD Manager allows users to easily manage one or multiple imported CFD datasets that will be used with a transient thermal simulation. The imported CFD records can be quickly modified, duplicated or deleted. The CFD Manager also allows helps engineers keep track of details within a CFD file, such as time/date of import and the settings that were used during import. No-cost evaluation licenses are available to qualified organizations.
